Welcome to Newick Cricket Club
Newick Cricket Club is a friendly and ambitious Sussex village club with a thriving junior section. New juniors (School Yr 3 / U8 and upwards) and adult players (of all standards) are welcome and can participate fully in training sessions and matches.
Newick CC boasts two of the most picturesque grounds in Sussex, both with excellent facilities: our grounds man prides himself on consistently excellent wickets and we have a welcoming pavilion with a bar.
There are now 10 ECB-trained coaches among our club members and we have the latest bowling machine for practice use. Our 4 senior teams play Saturday league cricket in the East Sussex League (Divisions 1, 4, 11 and 13). We put out Sunday and mid-week teams, playing friendly cricket of all standards. The Junior / Colts section is extremely successful with a large proportion graduating to one of our senior league teams.
FOR BOTH ADULT MEMBERS (age 16+) & JUNIOR MEMBERS(age U8's / School Yr 3 to U16's / School Yr 11) - please contact: DAVID WHELPTON (newickcc@aol.com, 07831 840000) - Membership Secretary or LIAM CRAIG DAVIES (07814 271321)- 1st XI Captain).
Senior nets are organised by the club captains and are normally on Thursday evenings during the season.
Junior coaching is run by the club's ECB qualified coaches and are on Friday evenings 5.30-6.30pm for U9 & U11's (School Yrs 3 - 6), 6.45-8.00pm for U13 & U15's (School Yrs 7 - 10). The bar is normally open, providing a relaxing start to the weekend for parents / carers.
All newcomers are most welcome to turn up at nets or on match days.
Overseas Players: we welcome overseas players, but we are an amateur club and do not pay anyone to play cricket for us.
